ShadesOfCerulean OP 4 hr. ago Posted here a year ago and everyone was lovely. Wanted to share their progress! Backstory: My family adopted two small puppies from the shelter in January 2023. They were about 9 weeks old at the time and were 4-5 pounds each. The adoption website listed them as chihuahua sisters. Met them and they are obviously not Chihuahuas, but family had to adopt them anyway

They are now about 15 months old. Scary smart. Super affectionate. Best of friends. Never ending energy. Their favorite thing is playing ball and they like to try to hide them under the dishwasher. Cannot leave the door down or balls will be placed in the racks. They play fetch every day several times. Today they weighed in at 55 pounds and 59.4 pounds. Despite what is written on their adoption papers, DNA ruled out any chihuahua genes entirely

timbuckwoo 5 hr. ago Ah yes, the rare Cauldron Chihuahua. Opposite version of the more typical Teacup Chihuahua. Of course.

Shades Of Cerulean OP 4 hr. ago Surprisingly only 2 breeds. Dutch Shepherd and Staffordshire split evenly. Since doing the DNA test we have discovered dozens of relatives. Pretty sure they came from some backyard breeder cretin and were dumped for not being "pure"

ShadesOfCerulean OP. 55 min. ago We used embark and it shows family! New dogs pop up once in a while too. There was a 3rd sister that was adopted right before we could get there and I keep hoping she shows up as a relative. No siblings have shown up yet, but loads of extended fam. We did the breed and health test so we could find out if they are predisposed to anything

ShadesOfCerulean OP. 29 min. ago I have been shocked by all the info the test gives. It tells what they need to be happy and healthy, temperament, activity level, expected size, sooo much stuff! Even down to hair type lol
